The HLanData project (Creation of value-added services based on Harmonized Land Use and Land Cover Datasets) aims to demonstrate the feasible European level harmonization of the Land Use and Land Cover datasets taking into account both the data categorization and the data models, for any of their possible uses and users, through the development of user oriented value-added services.
HLANDATA is fostering the use of the Land Use and Land Cover geographic data at a European level, through the creation of value-added European web services, including the HLanData Geoportal and 4 pilot projects, which allow to validate the harmonization proposal made:
• PILOT 1: Land Use- Land Cover Data Analysis System for intermediate-level users
• PILOT 2: Land Information Systems, including Pilot 2.1 (Harmonized interoperable national land information system) and Pilot 2.2 (Establishment of a national land statistical accounting system based on GMES core mapping service products)
• PILOT 3: Stratification of waste dumps
Each of the pilot projects will result on a Land Use model for a specific application area.
HABITATS project (Social Validation of INSPIRE Annex III Data Structures in EU Habitats) focuses in the adoption of INSPIRE standards through a participatory process to design and validate Data, Metadata and Services Specifications with real citizens and business.
